1st Practical session

On the 22nd of August, we had our very first practical session. It was exciting to finally be having practical lessons after a very long time. We had to either prepare a one-dish meal with a drink or local dessert or a baked product with a drink or local dessert. My partner,Raudhah and I chose to bake carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and iced coffee. 

The day before practical, Raudhah came over to my house to try out the recipe. Our first attempt at carrot cupcakes failed. The inner part of the cupcakes were not cooked properly. This was due to insufficient baking time. We should have baked the cupcakes longer. However, our cream cheese frosting was a success. It was delicious. But because we didn't cool our cupcakes before frosting, our frosting melted. Instead, we should have waited for the cupcakes to cool down before frosting.

Luckily for us, our cupcakes turned out well on the day. The cupcakes were cooked and we it was cooled before being frosted. Our theme for the table setting was cafe.We chose a cafe theme as it is a cosy place where one can enjoy his or her cupcakes and iced coffee.
